Middlegame training

Most of our games are decided in the middlegame. Sometimes because of tactical mistakes, and often because we don’t chose the right plan in the middlegame. That is why it’s immensely important to understand middlegame positions.

The following 29 video’s contain examples from grandmaster games. You will be invited to think about the positions and choose a plan. After you have done this you can see the plan that was chosen in the actual game. The correct plan is clearly explained so you can enrich your insight in middlegame planning. Good luck!

  1. Thanks Majnu really appreciate your efforts…. would like to see a few vids where you convert chess endgames from Books into your easy to understand, and convenient to study chess videos.

    • Hi,
I’ve done some endgames video’s in the past. They can be watched on youtube. I’m thinking about a new series on endgames using the same frame as in this middlegame training (Short introduction to the position, then letting the viewer think for himself and then giving the solution and explaining it).
      Majnu.

  2. you are amazing , i watch the series months ago , and it’s really help , even great player will get better after watching it ..

your way in explanation is just amazing ..

    thx ..

  3. Thank you for the wonderful series. I have learned a lot about middlegame. It is really nice to see you share your chess knowledge. I will be visiting this site hope to see more of your wonderful lessons.
PS.. I also totaly agree with your thoughts about the late, brilliant chess genius Bobbi Fisher

  4. Majnu, thank you very much for the videos! I just completed all 27 middlegame videos. It is a real treat to have a stronger player than me pointing out the critical positions and moves. Too often, I find myself completely lost for a reason that the Grandmasters play particular moves. I am learning a lot! Endgame videos next!

  5. Why do not make a DVD on Middlegame\\\\\\’s You Tube is not always a good Idia.
A DVD don\\\\\\’t need internet connection!!
    Greeting from Australia.
